In an attempt to simplify my life, I installed an ran xampp for OS X last night. I didnt like it so I decided that I'd rather use the built in apache/php/mysql combo. I have all of those guys running just fine, it is just that when I type in localhost, it forwards me to localhost/xampp/index.php. If I type localhost/~emehrkay, it goes to my User/emehrkay/sites directory

There doesnt seem to be anything in the hosts file (etc/hosts), or the httpd.conf file, but is there something that I am overlooking that is causing this forward to happen? something that may be left over by xampp?

I had this issue after removing xampp before. I just cleared by browsers cache and that done the trick for me.
