hello dear PHP-experts,

today i create a rescue-system for the emergency-situation:

i am creating a little resque-usb for SUSE-DVD on USB-Stick

currently plan to create a litle Rescue-USB while using Suse-ISO DVD on a USB medium 1:1 copied

step 1. Suse-ISO download:

here: http://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/opensuse/distribution/13.2/iso/openSUSE-13.2-Rescue-CD-x86_64.iso

step 2 copy the file onto a USB stick with the following command

dd if=openSUSE-13.2-Rescue-CD-x86_64.iso of=/dev/sdX bs=32k
where sdX=sdb or sdc is the USB stick

ready - now i can test the rescue-usb

You need to download a rescue copy iso file of suse (if they provide a copy, not sure for suse), not all DVD or CD installation media. When you create a usb flash drive as a bootable device make sure that the device is not mounted to the system.

MiniSUSE comes with all the great packages you might need. It offers you a Swiss army knife for all your Linux needs – still it is small enough to fit a CD/DVD or USB drive. You can use it to rescue systems, format drives, check sensors or hack whatever you want. If you are looking for a small, but extremely useful Linux distribution you can get up and running in seconds from the media of your choice, look no further.
