Error 404 on all links from home page

I have a web site (that was developed by a third party) configured with Modx and PHP on a MySQL database in IIS7.

The site has worked fine for about 4 years, but recently all of the links from the home page display "error 404"

  MapRequestHandler

Error Code 0x80070002

I have noticed that, instead of the usual format of www.baptisthomes.org/index.php?id=17  I get www.baptisthomes.org/aboutus.html (as an example).

The static file handler in IIS appears correct, the server is in good shape, and I can't see anything in Modx to suggest a problem.

I have two other sites on this server configured the same that are working properly.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
