  1. if (isset($_REQUEST['submit']) && $_REQUEST['submit'] != "") { Not sure why you do this. I also think !empty($_REQUEST['submit']) would have done the same as isset and not equals "", unless you really want to check if it's not an empty string, in which case you must use !== instead of !=. This is a good beginning: if(isset($_POST['attendance'])) This is what you should do next I think: foreach($_POST['attendance'] AS $key=>$value){ if($value == 2){ echo $key . ' is not accepted'; } } I hope that makes any sense for you!
