  1. Also, it's quite possible that you're only working from tutorials and projects from books - They are only really useful for getting a feel of the language, if you make it a habit, you end up only knowing how to do very specific tasks. Once you know syntax and the existence of a bunch of functions (you don't even have to memorize them, just know they're probably there) it is pretty much down to logic. Similarly to what ignace wrote, break you tasks down step by step and solve it one bit at a time.
  2. Correct, they own this website and forum... Telephone: 407-275-1117 (US) Fax: 407-574-5901 (US) The Web Freaks, INC. 3700 Commerce Blvd Suite 154 Kissimmee, FL 34741
  3. Quite likely, but we don't want to keep patching it every time the forum is upgraded. File a bug report with SMF.
  4. If you haven't updated the OS on your PS3, you could install Linux on it, then connect to your desktop over something like RDP. Not really ideal though. Some graphics cards have ports such as HDMI or S-Video that you could plug the TV into, and some TVs support VGA / DVI that you could also use. You can even convert from DVI to HDMI with an adapter. Direct connection is your best bet.

    The Black Keys

I'm a fan, but have never seen them live. Birmingham isn't too far away from me... Shame I don't keep up on artists live dates
  6. I generally always use single letter vars for parts of dates and times when the functionality is contained, but I use $i for minutes, in line with the usage in date().
  7. As far as I'm aware, this is not possible - I have tried figuring this out before too, but with no luck.
  8. You'll need to have access to an SMS gateway to send the messages, for any worthwhile service level, you'll be paying for it. I'm not sure where you are in the world, but here in the UK I have used a company called Esendex in the past with good results - Just make sure they have some kind of API and documentation.
  9. Yeah, but it's a thinly veiled keyword filled post with a link to some ropey looking 'deals' website stuffed with affiliate links and Google ads. S'all I'm saying...
  10. I've never understood why people sign up for a PHP forum and their first post has nothing to do with PHP... Oh right, spam.
  11. You might be interesting in the screen casts over at ZendCasts.com - That was my starting point to learning some basics about ZF, I found it worthwhile, after that, it's a case of just trying stuff and reading the documentation.
  12. Silly, isn't it, everyone is blowing that out of proportion. Sticking flags on everything possible is proper pikey, anyway.
  13. Meh, I'm not into football at all.
  14. Partially, I guess, as I have only ever seen it on the top result of a page. Based on that, if you can get your site to the top of the page for your keywords, and your site is built in a way that allows Google to index it effectively, it will pick out pages that it thinks are important enough to have their own links in the SERPs. Might be worth reading the webmaster help pages on the Google website.
  15. In a nutshell, you can't. Google decides if it wants to.
  16. I was speaking to a rep from RM last week. The data will be released. I think they are still working on how to make it accessible. Well, if that is the case, awesome! But based on track record, I'll believe it when I see it.
  17. I heave read things every so often about them opening up the PAF, but it never materializes. I wouldn't hold your breath.
  18. You'd be lucky as that information is copy-written and owned by the Royal Mail, whoever would be providing it would be breaking their license agreement. You might be able to do some approximate searches with one of Googles APIs, but it probably won't be as accurate as you are looking for.
  19. Download some open source applications? Forums packages, blogs, e-commerce solutions, etc.

  21. I think the for-free part has something to do with that It's a possibility, but I'd imagine that almost all contributors are programmers in some other capacity, so would have this requirement for their other programming too. Then again, I'm sure there are more people writing code on a single screen than there are on more than one.
  22. I use Ubuntu on my desktops, laptops and servers because it "just works" (*most of the time), I don't have the time to sit there configuring a base install of something else to meet my requirements. I also like it's aptitude package manager over what the other distros offer. *However, this is a shortfall of all distributions from what I can work out, and that it that support for multiple monitor set-ups is lacking. I'd have thought that a large majority of the programmers contributing to the OS would be working with multiple monitors, but that obviously isn't the case.
  23. It depends where you are based and what kind of taxes you are talking about. In the UK for example, we have VAT. If you are exporting goods outside of the EU, you do not add the VAT, but if you are exporting to countries within the EU, you add the VAT at the rate for the country in which the buyer is based. This information should be listed on your government or regulatory bodies website.
