I have trouble with placeholders. It seems all solutions for older browsers breaks my design- when I refresh page sometimes it shows correctly search box design but sometimes placeholder fix breaks my design. When I disable it (code at the bottom of the page) design always shows correctly...

Hi guys! Design is created by forum member GuiltyGear (thanks again!) and I sliced, HTMLed and CSSed this design. But design was created as general design for main page mainly and some sections I've created myself (I am very poor at design) and I hope You can give me some advice for bad parts of design. This background on top of page looks too big. It would be good if there was an option to hide it. Footer looks empty...

Most PDfs are protected and only options is to "convert" pdf to image and use tinyeye service or similar but pdfs are too big for this service and I don't know any free service which could compare very big images. There is option to use ABBY Finereader or other alternatives (which all are much worse than Finereader) to convert pdf to other more understandable format...

Didn't understand a word but... PHP most tasks do very, very fast so full caching will not get performance boost at all. By caching more difficult tasks (SQL queries, file operations and others) You can gain significant speed boost.

create third table for avatars (user_id, avatar_type, avatar_value) and use LEFT JOIN. Three joins is not much.
