you have to include the trailing / www.whatever.com/hello/ without the slash, the computer searches for file called hello with no file extention also check that httpd.conf has all of the correct default file types under DirectoryIndex- DirectoryIndex index.php index.html

check that your server name is correct and check that your server root is correct. currently it is- ServerRoot "C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache" ServerName sid2

use mod_rewrite tut @ http://www.phpfreaks.com/tutorials/23/0.php

so you want www.whatever.com/hello open hello.html or do you want www.whatever.com to open index.html or index.php
