  1. Im pretty sure Im running it as an Apache module. It works fine on phpinfo, just not where I am using it on my pages.
  2. I am trying to get the user name to display on a page. I am using $theUser = $_SERVER['PHP_AUTH_USER']; and I get the following error: Notice: Undefined index: AUTH_TYPE I get an error if I try to user PHP_AUTH_PWD and PHP_AUTH_TYPE. I am running PHP with Apache. I went into phpinfo, and it is able to display the user name and password there that I used to access phpinfo. Other SERVER variables, such as PHP_SELF do work. It just seems to be the ones related to authentication. I do have this page in a password-protected folder. However, I did not use an .htaccess file, I have designated it in the httpd.conf file under a <DIRECTORY>. Is there something else I need to do (besides setting the login requirement in apache) in order to let PHP see the user name?
