GUI site

I think you need to go back to the drawing board because in all honesty your site lacks any kind of whoa factor. And it's ok to try and be different but you have to know what looks good first, do be honest with yourself and tell me you don't think your site looks good? or even GUI rich? I would suggest losing the gradients, bevels and deep deep shadows. use shadows by all means but not so heavily, same for the bevels. I could of told you your site looks absolutely amazing and what, would that of pleased you? I won't be all fake about it with you I'll tell you it like it is, work on it I'm sure you can improve the general design.
2. [!--quoteo(post=363794:date=Apr 11 2006, 04:03 PM:name=moberemk)--][div class=\'quotetop\']QUOTE(moberemk @ Apr 11 2006, 04:03 PM) [/div][div class=\'quotemain\'][!--quotec--] I agree that that design does look better, but I don't think that it's fully stealing. His design is a lot... different, that's for sure.
Yea indeed, I'll hold my hands up and quite honestly say that I did not design the full lay out, I saw his and decided to modify it for my own pleasure, at the minute I don't currently have all the skills to create my own CSS site from scratch so I took his and I am now learning something from looking through this, I have done a few changes to it again and thank you very much for the responses, I'll post it later on for you to look at, just adding some content. I think most people might of thought I done this design so for that I apologise but that was never my intention. I am just in a transition at the minute where I am looking into web developement, so from something which has never been high on my list of things to do to something which I really do like is a big step for me. I have good design skills alot of people say but there is much more to it than design with CSS and web design so here I am. A question I have is:: How easy would it be to implement an image gallery into my site, something such as Hoverbox and Lightbox? I'd like to know as obviously I am going to need one so if anybody has any advice on that then thankyou.
3. Here's my new site, it's only the first page, need to add some content but the general idea is there. Can you let me know what you think if that's not too much to ask, I've tried to keep it simple and not over do it, and used a variation of colours to decorate it. 4. Hello people of the CSS world, I need help, urgently (Well.. I just need some advice) Ok so I have a background and I want the image to replace that background for the site I am creating, this background image will be the default for all of my sections (Home/Contact/Links etc) Now I need to stretch the image across the browser window as it does not fit anything above 1024 x 768 (That's the images size) and I believe I can use CSS to achieve this, is that correct? I've tried a couple of things (Software I'm using is Dreamweaver 8) but I aint getting anywhere. So what way do I achieve that? And I really am new to this so could you please try and keep the technical speak to one side, just tell me exactly what I have to do :) Thanks, ZiG The image in question is this
