i need to: [b]check my users registering username[/b] also [b]check to see if this string, '../' is found[/b] any ideas. i'd like my usernames to contain only "_A-Z a-z 0-1" only thanks in advance

if the script is running on your localhost and not aswell then try changing the localhost variable to the mysql host of your server, ask your server admin if you dont know the host.

that is a commandline mysql query you can run the same way by going to PHP My Admin the click SQL and click on the browse file feild then find the file you want then hit go.
