  1. The quality on the 360 can be HD if you have a good connection. It can drop to crap too...
  2. Doesn't netflix have something where you can downoad instead of waiting? My brother-in-law has netflix on his xbox360. He can download and watch any movie on the list (I don't think there is much selection on the 360 though...) As far as I know, there is no (legal) FREE download site.
  3. At work I am a team lead for my call center. This is a new assignment and as such the new guy gets the fun job. I go through the antiquated timekeeping system and figure out which of th hundred csrs punched in late. I approached my manager and suggested that I try coding a new timekeeping system. She said ok...now I have found that I have some questions. The main one is this: has anyone here done something like this and impressed the boss so much that they put the system into use? (All other questions fall into another category, so I will stick to this for now) Thanks
  4. Hey all, went out this weekend and bought a G1. I love this phone. Any major typing is annoying, but better than posting on the Wii... Some great apps out there for android phones. Anyone else out there have a G1?
  5. the point is the lawsuits will be filed. i never even suggested which side might win. a lawsuit is a lawsuit, it will still cost google money. and if there are 100 lawsuits being brought against google, that is a lot of money. imagine how much it would cost if there were 1000 lawsuits against google. they may just throw a token amount of money at them to make them go away. google is paying out $125 million to people whose books were scanned into google books. (SOURCE) i would say that is a token amount. how much do you think that each author will get? how many books were scanned? each will maybe get $100-300 on average. personally i have seen settlements with amounts paid out under $1. definately a token amount. Btw, the company that i work for is a class action administrator. i see lawsuits every day where the defendant denies all allegations. the point of a class action settlement is to make all of the plaintiffs go away while not admitting guilt. google could do that, say "if you dont file your claim by this date you will be barred from suing us in the future." then they would be in the free and clear.
  6. Any court would reject that lawsuit. Google can do whatever they want with their algorithm. It's not public service or whatever. You don't have the right to be displayed on Google. the point isn't whether any court MIGHT reject the lawsuit, it is that a lawsuit will be filed. and if you think about it for a minute, google has kind of become a public service. how many people use google everyday to find what they want. you can order anything online, and most people find stuff online with google. back in the day it was aol, then yahoo, now google. any large company will get sued, and this is one of the largest and most public. some proof: ServersCheck BVBA v. Google: Filed 2006. Claims: Google's search engine offers password cracking tools.... SOURCE: http://www.scribd.com/doc/21344/Googles-List-of-ClassAction-Lawsuits yes it was dismissed, but that doesn't mean that the plaintiff won't appeal. if you look on page 4 there is a section regarding "Lowering a Site's Ranking and Inappropriate Search Results" there have been multiple claims filed already. granted, the charges have been dismissed or withdrawn, but that wasn't the issue at hand. if Google does drop people's rankings because of the changes, someone will get upset. that someone will hire a lawyer, who might think, hmmm...i can get a butt load of money here if i start up a class action...that lawyer might dig up something on Google that a judge will look at (if 300,000 businesses get dropped and a good portion respond to the suit a judge will probably at least look at the case), all of this costs google money. in the end the bigwigs at google might just decide that it is cheaper to just pay the people and make them go away...you never know.
  7. I smell another class action lawsuit on the way if google does that. "In order to keep my clientele I would have to spend WHAT?!?!?" Doesn't sound like a good idea to force people to adopt video to keep their rankings...at least from a legal standpoint.
  8. i did install it and look! [attachment deleted by admin]

This error is often caused by incorrect use of the "Strict" document type with a document that uses frames (e.g. you must use the "Transitional" document type to get the "target" attribute), or by using vendor proprietary extensions such as "marginheight" (this is usually fixed by using CSS to achieve the desired effect instead). This error may also result if the element itself is not supported in the document type you are using, as an undefined element will have no supported attributes; in this case, see the element-undefined error message for further information. How to fix: check the spelling and case of the element and attribute, (Remember XHTML is all lower-case) and/or check that they are both allowed in the chosen document type, and/or use CSS instead of this attribute. If you received this error when using the <embed> element to incorporate flash media in a Web page, see the FAQ item on valid flash. 2. 10. how did you get the css to validate? when i clicked the link it took me to the main validation page where i copied and pasted the address into the bar and clicked submit and it came up w/ errors... so confused...
  11. btw. your site doesnt validate either in the html or css...DONT PUT THE LINKS ON THE SITE IF IT DOESNT VALIDATE! you just end up looking dumb...also, i still would quit using iframes if i were you.
  12. his intelligent programming logic only allows prime numbers of vulnerabilities through...maybe it is smart! seriously though om...if there are people in here who will scan for errors and not do anything malicious then i can guarantee that someone out there will find your site too annoying to stand and just break it for the heck of it. fix the errors and then ask for help. also, dont demand help or place a timeframe. we have given you critiques, suggestions for layouts, suggestions for code changes, COMPLETE CODES...the list goes on. fix the problems and then we'll see what you can change next. dont say that your code is intelligent, because if it was people wouldnt be able to inject your site...(or maybe it would just shut the site down for the sake of mankind) please fix the problems and then post. and make sure they are fixed.
  13. According to his profile, 30. i tend not to take what is in a profile for gospel...sorry.
  14. wow CV...you sound like you're 70....how old are you, 19? that is pretty good!
  15. Who says they purchased hosting exclusively for that domain? I have six domains pointing to my VPS for instance. i know...but the master card commercials all have 3 or 4 things before priceless and i cant think very well...
  16. the size of that hdd is ridiculous...just think...you MIGHT be able to hold that 50mb of hosting on that!!!
  17. wow...that is the biggest waste of space i can think of... domain name, $10/year hosting, $5/month time to build, 5 minutes adding another pointless page to the internet, priceless
  18. it is a firefox addon...look it up yourself. i posted a few links for sql injection. read up and then post please...
  19. you know......i didnt see much difference....... top 3 sites that came up on google with the phrase "sql injection" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SQL_injection http://www.unixwiz.net/techtips/sql-injection.html http://www.securiteam.com/securityreviews/5DP0N1P76E.html read up on injection techniques...from what darkfreaks already said, you are still vulnerable.
  20. personally i think that this should be put somewhere else, because we have gone from "beta testing" to offering basic help which is not being listened to... i dont know if anyone else agrees, but really, you have been given ideas as to the layout, color scheme, etc. to actual sql injections... i dont know what more you want for us to do om...fix the problems and then re-post.
  21. Maybe in your ideal world you can always get money back if you feel you've been wronged. It doesn't always work like that in the real world though. There is shit on the TV all the time about people getting screwed over by some contractor. Here we are not just talking your $200, but tens of thousands of dollars... lost. Sometimes the person you pay may just disappear with the money. You are the one missing my point actually. Your client doesn't want to get ripped off either so logically he will want to hold the funds before he has got what he is going to pay for. Likewise do you want to hold the funds because you don't want to get ripped off either. That's a catch-22 because you obviously cannot both hold the funds. The solution is that neither of you hold the funds and let a legal trustee in form of an escrow agent do it instead. This will ensure you that the money exist and it'll also ensure your client that you won't run away with the money. They funds won't be released until both parties have agreed to. And you need to get a legally binding contract as well of course. the thing is that if he is comfortable taking 100% up front, more power too him. it might turn away potential clients, but that is their choice. if they dont want to front the money they can go somewhere else. it would be better business practice to split it 50-50 and get a signed contract or get a contract, dont take anything up front, do all dev on your own server, and when project is finished take payment after the client has seen the finished product.
  22. only works if they care about their family...
  23. its better... #1 = get rid of the iframe. #2 = change colors PLEASE!!! #3 = try to put some sense into the page. it's still very random and i cannot decide what to pay attention to... which brings us to #4 = GET RID OF THE MARQUEES!!! this is not a please and thank you issue...they are annoying and distracting...not to mention pointless.
  24. does it even really sanitize??? or does it just check to make sure that a form was filled completely and maybe was alphanumeric or something? i cant see a practical client side script that actually sanitizes an entry...
  25. when you think that you have the page secured, post in the beta test area. people will check it out for you.
