    Apologies in advance if this is not the right place for this question...I'm looking for general advice/comments as opposed to a solution to a particular problem. I’m interested in understanding the best way to leverage a database (any database) using PHP. I’m interested in opinions on PDO vs. direct database extensions(mysql, mssql, oci, etc.)…which do you use and why? Thanks.
