hi! i want to set a site in wich all of my friends can log into and catalog their stuff so every other user can see it and the borrow it. the concept is the same as OpenDB. ( http://opendb.iamvegan.net ): The Open Media Collectors Database (OpenDb) is a PHP and MySQL based inventory application that allows you to easily catalog and lend out your stuff. Its primary purpose is to catalog media related items, such as DVD's, Books, CD's etc, but its so flexible you can use it to catalog pretty much anything. but i want to mount it on a free webhost ( its just for fun so it has to be free ) and none of the free webhosters allow the LOCK TABLES privilege which is absolutly necessary for OpenDB to run, AND has a max execution time of 600 ( they all have 30 as standard ). does anyone know an app that i could use for this? (needless to say the app would have to be freeware) or any open source that could be modified to accomplish this? (i know nothing of php, but i've seen a lot of apps that have easy to install plug-ins... maybe one of those could work) thanks to all!!! M.
