  1. I want to know if it is possible to add text to an existing WooCommerce category page as viewed in attached screenshot? The  red arrow should be pointing more to the word "Bigfoot" but I want to add it to this page here (and I have about 64 similar pages I'd like to work on). I have spent enough and feel I can learn some basic PHP so all I want to know first, is if I can php coding this is possible? I have added code to "functions.php" in Wordpress and also the CSS editor.
I avoid the theme editor at all costs but first, if I can verify if this is possible, I want to then learn the best way to achieve this. No, I don't want to go the plugin route either. If I can create an action for this one page, learning it for the rest ought to be doable. What are you thoughts?

  2. The same source for my daily image that appears on my index pagenow (which is on a Windows server) will also work on the same web hosting company's Linux server. However, I was told by someone with PHP knowledge that the image won't display in that BODY area of WordPress. So was wondering then, could it be displayed in the HEADER area perhaps? In essence, the script works on both server sides....so curious if WordPress will allow it to display elsewhere? As mentioned, I am not a PHP'er. Here is another way to see the day's current image in your browser. Click here

  3. Not certain on that DavidAM. Reason being, is I did not author the script. However, there were other variants of the code devised, so that interested web designers could also embed a specific line of code in their own HTML in order to show / rotate the cartoon on their own page(s). In essence, all I need to do, is give them this:

    <a href="http://danscartoons....oons.com/"><img border="2" src="http://danscartoons....lycartoon.php">

...and once added, the image would be begin it's journaey, changes of course at 2AM tomorrow morning to another image I uploaded 365 toons in a specific folder of images. I include a total of one year's worth, once per year so it's a "set-it-and-forget-it" type of script. As I say, this is all currently happening on my web host's Windows server. They reserved my hosting space for my future WordPress them on their Linux server and notified me the same script will work there....but like I mentioned, it won't display in "BODY" when it was looked at. So see attached screenshot and I am left wondering about a work-around and if it could be made to appear in other parts of the WordPress page, i.e. SIDEBAR, FOOTER or HEADER?

This has me stumped....but I feel offering a different image every day adds more "value" or return visitors and would hate to lose this functionality.

  4. I currently have this site where you'll notice that daily image there. It's controlled by a custom PHP script to auto-rotate to a new image, every 24/7/365 at 2AM NYC time....works perfect. That script was uploaded and resides on the actual Windows server of my web host. This site is on a Windows server. The same hosting company reserved Linux space so I can rebuild the site in WordPress (obviously for better SEO, CSS etc.). I was told the same script works in the WP site (here's temp domain URL) and the only problem is, I wanted it to perform the same functionality in the body of the WP page.....looks like that won't happen. Aside from altering or modifying the script, not even touching it, are there other ways the image can be made to appear in the page? Keep in mind, I am not a PHP'er, only an artist....and a web designer. Any info, help, feedback, comments, constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated.

  5. I have a PHP script to rotate a daily image on my index page at www.danscartoons.com which occurs daily, at 2am every 24/7. Am readying a new folder of images to uplaod and then publish to my web host's server. Prior to doing so, I want to verify how the current images are named. My last script writer flew the coop and want someone to take username & password and go in and look inside the folder. ,Once verified, I can name my images the same and simply upload new folder of images and publish to my host. It would only take a couple minutes for someone to help out. You could use same script for your own benefit if you wish, and configure it accordingly. It's been very useful for my own purposes but I never recorded the file names prior to my last upload. PLEASE - email me directly at address on my index page....I DO NOT use Skype or utilize IM formats. BEST and MOST APPRECIATED form of contact is address on my index page...please email me there.

  6. I was told to re-post here. I have an exisiting php script that is configured on my web host's server, which rotates the daily image on my index page here: www.danscartoons.com and the image updates automatically at 2am eastern time, 24/7/365. All I need to do is uplaod the folder with the next year's worth of images to my site and publish to my host.

Prior to doing so, I was wondering if and freaks might be available if I need assistance? I realize it's relatively easy, but if I run into a blip, if someone is around it would be great. If you could email directly to me at address on that index page I mentioned or simple PM here? I have my images identified as dc0.gif, dc1.gif and so on in that folder.

Just want to make sure I have "back up" if any problems occur. My last two PHP people flew the coop....it always happens that way so I might need help.

  7. I use an existing PHP script, that is configured on my web host's server which rotates a daily image for me. It changes the image at 2am every 24 hours 24/7/365 and I am wondering if any php'er is available to assist if I need help on it? Let me know right here...just PM me, or give me your email address or site where I can contact you. Btw, here is my URL where the current image for today appears:

    www.danscartoons.com

There is a corresponding script I provide other interested web masters to add this same image on their site, which works out great. I need help though, prior to uploading the upcoming year's worth of stuff.
