When I followed gizmola\'s (thank you) advice this is what I got C:Documents and SettingsMario> C:mysqlbinmysqldump db_yucatica > C:tempex port.sql C:mysqlbinmysqldump: Got error: 1045: Access denied for user: \'ODBC@localhost \' (Using password: NO) when trying to connect When I checked the temp folder there was a file \'export.sql\' which means that when I get the password problem right I will get the database dump. So if you can, please help with my password problem, I constantly refer to the MySQL documentation but have found no solution yet. Mario

Another attempt yielded this C:Documents and SettingsMario>C:>cd mysqlbin \'C:\' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. When I attempted to raise the mysql prompt (then I know I can do the dump) this is what I got: C:Documents and SettingsMario> C:>cd mysqlbin \'C:\' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I am having serious problems with this MySQL thingy. I need to dump the contents of a database, but I have 2 problems. 1.) I try to run the mysql.exe from the \'bin\' folder and it starts but then the window dissappears. 2.) When I do the mysqldump i get GOT error: 1045 : Access denied for user \'ODBC@localhost\' (Using password YES) when trying to connect I have also tried other users such as \'root@localhost\' and the results are similar I have updated the password several times and I\'m quite sure that I got the right one. Hi there! New to MySQL. Recently built a database and want to dump its contents using the dump function but when I double clic the mysql.exe icon in the folder the DOS window opens briefly and closes without me being able to do anything. Does anybody know what this problem is? Help will be greatly appreciated. Mario.
