  1. Thanks for the comments and kind words! The expiry date has been updated to June 15th (sorry about the delay). Any further feedback? Steven
  2. A new version has been released, and the expiry date has been extended to the 1st of March. Steven
  3. Hi All, I am requesting any and all feedback for a time tracking and invoicing program I am developing called Time Sheet 2010. This program allows you to record the time you've spent on work (either using a timer that ticks every second, or using a timer that monitors how long a program is open for), manage To Do's (including organising them into convenient groups), generate invoices and track money received from them, and also manage your contacts using an Address Book. And now you can also record time and To Do's on the go using the Time Sheet Mobile application which runs on pretty much any phone (by utilising Java). Once you've recorded your time and To Do's, you simply upload them to a mobile data server, and when you get back to your computer, download them straight into Time Sheet 2010. I've uploaded a copy of the first release candidate of Time Sheet 2010 to the official website - http://mytime-sheet.com/ - and would appreciate any and all feedback on this product. The official website also has more information on the useful features found in Time Sheet 2010. This release candidate expires on the 12th of February and, if further testing is required after this date, a new version will be released to extend this expiry date. For those of you who saw Time Sheet 2009, note that this is a complete rewrite from the ground up. If you could post any feedback here or in the Time Sheet Forums, it would be very much appreciated. I look forward to your feedback! Steven
  4. I've set up a secure version of the site now, which can be accessed by replacing http:// with https://, or by going here. Thanks, Steven
  5. Looks cool! A few suggestions: 1) If I try to go to a URL such as this one - http://djw-webdesign.awardspace.com/code.php?snippet=84 - where that snippet doesn't actually exist, I still get the 'template' for this page. Adding in a row check (to determine if the query returns 0) would be a good idea IMHO. 2) The only other thing to suggest is just fixing up the grammatical errors on the site. Hope it helps! Steven
  6. It looks pretty good. A few points I'll make in order to improve it: 1) As previously mentioned, change the font to something a bit more sophisticated. Perhaps something like Gill Sans MT or Tw Cen MT? 2) Remove the drop shadows - they don't seem to fit for some reason (IMHO). 3) Change the 'apply' buttons to make them a bit more professional - a different font will probably have a great effect on this, however. 4) The logo of the two circles that features prominently in your favourite icon, I reckon, should make an appearance in the main site logo in order to improve consistency. 5) The rounded corners of the blue box in the bottom left don't seem to match the feel of the rest of the site (IMHO). I hope this helps! Steven
  7. I've now updated Time Sheet Online, taking into account many of the suggestions posted on this forum. I'd appreciate any feedback on the changes made, and would appreciate it if you could complete the survey (the link to the survey can be found when you log in). The user name and password are both demo. You can view the demo at the link specified in the first post, or you can go here. I am in the process of setting up an SSL certificate on the website, too - this should take effect soon. Thanks in advance, Steven
  8. @ProjectFear: Thanks for the feedback! I thought that the boxes would be annoying, as they appear to overlap on a 1024 x 868 resolution too. I've decided to work on 'realigning' my current website design instead of completely 'redesigning' it. Steven
  9. Hi All, Thanks for the feedback you've all given me for my recent projects - I really appreciate it! I've been working on a new concept for my portfolio (smctainsh.com) and would appreciate any feedback on it. At the moment, the blog and contact page aren't complete (the blog hasn't been set up at all), but the portfolio and home page are (should be) working. Again, any feedback is greatly appreciated. You can view the portfolio here. Thanks in advance, Steven
  10. I've added a survey to make it easier to record your feedback on Time Sheet Online. You can view the survey here: http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?key=p7QXBDLfQVklgidYmwPn9Jg Thanks in advance, Steven
  11. Any feedback on these changes? Anything you reckon would stop you from using it or purchasing a subscription? Steven
  12. Has anyone had a chance to try the new and improved version? Steven
  13. A few suggestions: 1) Perhaps use a more distinctive font for the logo, and perhaps a more significant emblem for it, too? It is really hard to interpret it at the moment. 2) Perhaps move the title up onto one line in order to make it easier to read? 3) Add one or two more colours in there to add some emphasis to important sections. 4) The navigation appears to sort of just 'merge' with the content - perhaps add a tabbed navigation at the top with more distinctive tabs, to make people more aware that it is in fact a navigation section? 5) Remove all the beveling - it just doesn't look right for some reason. 6) Finally, perhaps a bit more contrast - all of the content seems to just 'blend' in too much without any sort of separation, despite the beveled lines you already have. Hope this helps. Steven
  14. Hi All, I've updated Time Sheet Online, incorporated feedback from users of this forum and others. The demo user name and password, as well as the URL, are in the original post. I'd love to know what you guys think of the changes, and whether you think $19.95 a year is a suitable price for this service. Thanks, Steven
  15. Thank you so much for the feedback and suggestions ProjectFear! I really appreciate it and will work on integrating your suggestions into Time Sheet Online. What's your opinion on the $20 a year subscription fee? Thanks again, Steven
  16. @AndyB: That sounds like a great idea; I completely understand - seeing something like 0.9482 hours on an invoice might make someone think they were being 'nickel and dimed'. Thanks also for the input regarding the price, too. I'm planning on looking into some ways to ensure the timer doesn't 'over run'. @ProjectFear: I remember your feedback on the desktop version of Time Sheet and greatly appreciate it. Thanks for the kind words; I'm looking forward to hearing your feedback. Steven
  17. Thank you so much AndyB for the comments. I completely agree with what you've suggested and will look into implementing them. Once this service has been completed, polished, etc, I was considering a subscription of $20 per year for use of it. What do you guys think of this (in terms of features available, etc)? Thanks, Steven
  18. Looks pretty good. Just one point - I'm not sure if the portfolio thumbnail links are meant to be working yet, but when they do/if they are working, it would be a good idea to provide some fallback in the event of JavaScript being disabled. To be honest, I agree with what the others have said regarding width - maybe make it just a little bit smaller? I completely understand how you feel, too - I'm not a great designer either, and find the design if harder to create than the actual code itself. Good luck. The colours used are really good.
