  1. For those of you that also have the same issue... I was able to fix the problem. IPB 3 is using strict XHTML (2.x was not), when you upgrade, the system brings the old bbcodes as well as the new ones which will cause the parse errors in IE7 (IE8 will ignore it) This is to be fixed in RC2, but for now just edit the problem posts, delete the old html code and use the media tags to rid of the parse issues Hope this helps anyone in the future.
  2. PHP Freaks your my only hope! So I upgraded my forum from IPB 2.6 to 3.0 RC. Of course RC's can have issues, and I have one. A big one. IPB staff are aware of the issue but it's on the bottom of their list of things to fix. So I hope you can help me out. Here is the deal... IE 7.0 will give a "Internet Explore cannot open the Internet site" error when any topic that contains media is click on. (half my threads contain media) The user clicks OK and then is brought to a page cannot be displayed page. If I use IE 8.0 the page will load but gives a parse error (I just clicked on the yellow icon in the bottom left) If anyone has IE 7 handy then here is a link to show you (hope it's ok to post my link) http://www.vaportalk.com/index.php?showforum=52 Clicking on the "winners topic" for example will display the error. I have screenshots as well if it helps. I'm fairly knowledgeable and can edit files with ease. I think this is a tag error but don't know what to edit or where to look. Again thank you so much!!!
  3. I've been using Cirtex for a little while and to be honest it hasn't been bad for me, although I may just have gotten lucky. I've been running PHPMOTION on my server for a little while now. It's isn't as fast as youtube, but it loads fine. You may also want to have a look at Clipbucket. Looks much nicer and that Admin panel has many more features than PHPmotion. On a side note though PHPMOTION is releasing version 3 here pretty soon.
  4. I'm trying to install a modification called PHPBB3 Gallery. I have done all the edits with no problems. I then browse to the install directory and view the install page. As soon as I click install I get the following error: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /install/index.php on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. I thought this was a CMOD issue. So I set the folder to 777 and still the same error. I also tried 644. Anybody know what the deal is?
  5. Ahh ok. Well if there is any issues I learn the hard way Thanks for your help though
  6. I have a pretty small but growing forum community. I'm 100% self taught so "how to fix" posts would be nice http://forums.freemasonryforums.com/ My main concern here is security. I don't want to put a tone of work into my site only to have someone take it down. Thanks guys! (and gals?)
  7. First off what a sweet freakin site this is! I would also like to say hello to everyone. So...I'm getting this error: Fatal error: Call to a member function recordcount() on a non-object in /home/user/FastFoodPranks/video/admin_area/advertisement.php on line 58 When I'm in the admin panel of Clipbucket. I opened the file and looked on line 58 BUT it looked normal. But to be honest here I didn't really know what I was looking for. Anyone know what the error could me. Please let me know if you need any further information and thanks so much for your help!
