  1. Hi, I don't know if this is a PHP problem or what. I have a web site I am working on, and it is a multi-vendor type site. When someone sends an upload of their inventory, for some reason the site/script is adding weird slashes and characters to the text. The site is a book listing/selling site, and if there is an apostrophe in the title of the book, it will change from "The King's New Clothes" to "The King/'s New Clothes". Also if I try to use the FCKeditor to edit the problems (FCKeditor is part of the site) it seems to make the problem worse and adds even more slashes. Has anyone else ran into this kind of problem??? The URL to the site is wwx.obebooks.com I can post some of examples of the problem if that would help... Thanks for any help...
  2. I have been looking for where the code could be on my web site that controls the image size, but I can't seem to find it. I am not even sure if I am looking in the correct places. I am sorry that I am such an idiot about these things. But I do thank you for trying to help. If anyone has any suggestions of where I might look for the images or the size, I will be much appreciative. Also, I could copy the code from the page where one uploads the images if that would help. Thanks, Lezlie
  3. Ok, I have another dumb question. On my website, I have it where sellers can upload images of their books (that is what our products are), but the images that I am testing for upload are coming out distorted. It looks to me as if the script has it set for 200 x 200, and although the image will upload, it looks incorrect. Can someone tell me how to fix this?? I could post some of the code if that would help... The URL to the site is www.obebooks.com and if you do a search for the book "The Essential Spike Milligan" you can see what I mean...but if you click on the picture, it will come up looking like it should... Thanks for any help you can give me... Lezlie
  4. I agree that that would be the smartest thing to do. But, so far I have spent all of my savings on getting this program to function properly, I have been jerked around by "programmers", and when I went to the original programmers for help, we encountered a huge language barrier. To top it off, the shop where I worked for the past 8 years closed on Christmas Eve (permanently) and now I am out of work. I have been working on this site for 7 months, hoping to have it open the first of the year. I appreciate that ya'll are looking at it. I will try to find someone local to help me. Thanks, Lezlie
  5. **Update** I think I have found out some of the problem with uploading. It appears the programmers did an upgrade without asking me and they replaced some of my modifications with the upgrade to their program. I found some specific terms that were being used in the new version since their upgrade, and searched through my old files and did not find those terms. I hope I can simply restore my files from a month ago that I downloaded onto my hard drive. I am not really sure how to go about this, so any advice would be welcome. I know how to FTP to my site, and move files, but I am wondering if I should only replace files that appear to have been changed since the time that I downloaded them?? I could post the PHP script here if that would help to look at it...but I would have to do just a few files at a time, as this is a rather large script, and seems to be very complicated. Thanks, Lezlie
  6. Ok, I did not write the code, I bought it from an online dealer...it is open source. I am having problems with some of the functions of the site, and I am hoping someone here can help me. The URL is www.obebooks.com and it is a Multi Vendor site. I was able to upload products until two days ago when somehow it quit working. I use a free program (which most bookseller use) to do my inventory management for my book inventory, then I upload it as a .txt file. For some reason, that is not working now. I do not know why. I hope someone can help me. Thanks, Lezlie
  7. I don't understand...my site is written in PHP...that is why I came here...I was hoping to find some help...
  8. Hi, I have been working on a website for 7 months. I do not know PHP. I paid for an open source script, and then paid someone to modify it for my needs. Now I have gone to the original programmers to fix things that were in their original script, but we have a language barrier. After the last fix, now I cannot upload any products. It was working properly before the fix, so I don't know what the mistake is. I need someone that knows PHP and can help me. Thanks, Lezlie
