  1. Congrats! It looks awesome, best of luck in your venture!
  2. I bookmarked it too. I developed a headache shortly after I looked at the site because the colours attempted to blind me. But the headache was well worth it. This site has made my day. I do love it in a way. I'm very serious. It really has a lingering effect on me. Although I must say, I'm convinced it was designed by the shop owner's child.
  3. You guys are just awesome! Thanks so much for your help, this is very encouraging!
  4. So that means the Html codes are definitely somewhere in the files/database, is this correct? Before this, I didn't know that Html was used with Php in this manner. Thanks a lot for the replies, I will spend some time this evening looking through the Wordpress files.
  5. Great way for them to get some exposure...funny/interesting website design= viral marketing? The site is at PR4 and has an alexa ranking of xx'xxx - not too bad at all.
  6. Thanks for the reply guys, I think I'm starting to understand it. But let's say I'm the admin of the php site and I can access all the site's files and database. Where will these Html codes within the PHP be available (e.g. sticking with the Wordpress example): The other day I was adding custom fields to the theme and I only had to paste this code: <?php the_meta(); ?> ...and on the browser source code it looked like this: <ul class='post-meta'> <li><span class='post-meta-key'>Sample Text:</span> Sample Text</li> <li><span class='post-meta-key'>Sample Text:</span> Sample Text</li> </ul> As the admin, where is the html code located; is it in the MySQL database? Thanks.
  7. 400 pages? Was his website actually working properly and did it look okay? Honestly, I think it's funny when I see codes that are messy and all over the place. But a large percentage of our site visitors don't know much or anything about how to get a website up. Ultimately, if the site functions the way it's supposed to who are we to complain? As someone who learnt HTML & CSS practically on my own, there's no way I code just like anyone who learnt it in class. As long as my sites are compatible with all the browsers and do what they're supposed to do, my clients are happy.
  8. I've been theming a Wordpress site this week and I started wondering how the PHP files that show only PHP codes come up as HTML when you look at the page's source code on the browsers? How does that work exactly? I don't know much about PHP but I really want to learn. Where are all these HTML codes hiding, when all the files are coded in PHP?
  9. Hi everyone! I'm so excited to be here, I've been searching for a PHP forum community and I'm confident this is the place to be! I am 99.9% new to PHP, I've read the notes they have on W3schools but I haven't got to the practice part yet. I have lots of questions to ask so please bear with me. I hope that in time I will be able to help the newbies here. I am a freelance web designer, I do graphics and work with both HTML & CSS. I've done some theming as well, especially with open source PHP softwares. I want to better myself in this field so this year I plan to take PHP & MySQL seriously and hopefully turn that "web designer" title into "web developer". Fingers crossed!
