Apache doesn't interpret PHP

I installed PHP4 and than I installed the newest Version of Apache2 Server on WindowsXP.. I Started Apache but the php files in my htdocs directory were shown as text... :? but the server seems to work, because it shows me my htdocs directory when I call localhost..

help :(

Did you tell Apache that you installed PHP?

Yes, it sounds crazy, but it isn\'t - if you don\'t update your httpd.ini file with the PHP info, apache won\'t know how to handle PHP files and will just treat them as text.

THX!! I\'ll click all six banners *gggg* yes, when installing PHP4 it told me, that it wasn`t able to configure the Apache Server... maybe because the Apache2 Version is too new (?)
