Apache doesn't interpret PHP

I installed PHP4 and than I installed the newest Version of Apache2 Server on WindowsXP.. I Started Apache but the php files in my htdocs directory were shown as text... :? but the server seems to work, because it shows me my htdocs directory when I call localhost..

 

 

help :(

Did you tell Apache that you installed PHP?

 

Yes, it sounds crazy, but it isn\'t - if you don\'t update your httpd.ini file with the PHP info, apache won\'t know how to handle PHP files and will just treat them as text.
