Good Day,

I'm a new Newbie to PHP. I am running a Mac OS X. I have a need to set up and run PHP within an HTML document. I also want to view this on my system before uploading to the Host.

I understand that this is a fairly simple process, however, I must have a mental block the size of the Great Wall of China.

I would greatly appreciate some guidance in the setup and running of PHP.

Thanks,

You need to add the .html extension to your httpd.conf file at this line...
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
be aware though that this will not be supported on a shared host.

Actually re-reading your post. Sounds like you might be wanting to setup a local server with php. If so, try following the guide in the [a href=\"http://php.net/manual\" target=\"_blank\"]manual[/a], its a great place to start.

its nice to meet someone like myself. i had the same trouble as you. i learn HTML ,CSS and Javascript but when it came to PHP i had no idea where to begin. i didn't even know you had to use a webserver. i had no idea how to setup a webserver or if i could set one up on my own machine.

i'm past that now. thank god. you will need to setup a web server you can do this 2 way.

you could setup apache, php and Mysql on there own.

or you could install a precomplied version like Xammp - [a href=\"http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html\" target=\"_blank\"]http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html[/a]

i would use xammp if i was you. its much more simple.

hope this helps
