I believe the one used on here is built with JavaScript actually, maybe thats why you have not had much luck finding one?

right. when you have something written with javascript, you can attach it to an existing page and run it after the page has loaded to modify the content. this is a much more flexible approach. plus, it can be added to static .html pages as well.

Then I came across the text2link script that suppositly only wprks as a plug in for
Interactive Tools turnkey script called Article Manager

The 3rd party script is located here:

Automatic Text To Link Script

This script allows a website to set certain keywords to automatically turn into links the first time their mentioned in articles. This is a useful script for alot of buisness and sports sites. Most sites will use this when a reference is made to another website or when referencing a player on a sports site.

Some examples of this script on a few sites we've installed are below:

[a href=\"http://www.thesafehouse.org\" target=\"_blank\"]http://www.thesafehouse.org[/a]
[a href=\"http://www.realfootball365.com\" target=\"_blank\"]http://www.realfootball365.com[/a]

Automatic Text To Link Script: $53.99 | Order Now

Though this AMscripts demo on second url is a 404 error...
And using Firefox the piopup of text2link doesn;'t work...lol
Someday ppl will wise up and quit bowing to MS lame ass I.E.
