akitchin Posted July 31, 2008 Share Posted July 31, 2008 i only looked at it briefly, but here are my thoughts: 1. there is no reason for the intro flash. absolutely none whatsoever. all it does is make me want to not bothering viewing the site before i even get to it. 2. there is a lot of stock photography and it takes a while for the actual layout to load. perhaps you could reduce the amount of graphics? i realize this is most likely a template that was purchased and repurposed, so i don't know if any other feedback is relevant. We havnt finished that yet. I hired a photographer to take professional pictures of the actual company owner. Jonas (friend) made the template........ akitchin Posted July 31, 2008 Share Posted July 31, 2008 i would suggest simply defaulting to the most common language of the people who will be viewing the site, and let them figure out how to change it - the flags at the top of the inside layout are fairly standard and for those who usually need to change the language, will be intuitive enough to figure it out. if the template was design custom, it looks pretty good. i have to admit it's fairly busy. the video stalls loading at 88%. and to be honest, i see no reason why the menu has to be in flash - it could be done just as easily in CSS with a far smaller footprint and better accessibility. otherwise, it's a pretty decent-looking site. Layout was made under 2 hours, the guy is only 16 too. First impressions: 1) Something seems wrong... 2) The black haired girl looks like she has a tooth ache. Lose that pic. 3) Video doesn't load on my Ubuntu FF. Starting up my XP VM. 4) Video still won't play on IE or FF. Flash sucks. 5) Language selection seems off-placed. Bit more towards the upper right corner probably does the trick. 6) "Start Today with" is in serif. Ugly. 7) Ah, I know what's wrong (1), the top of the left column sucks.
