Have a look at file_put_contents.

If you do not have php 5 then you will need to use

fopen
fwrite
fclose

Hi,
Try with this
function savefile($filename,$content)
{
    if (!$handle = fopen($filename, 'w')) {
         echo "Cannot open file ($filename)";
         exit;
    }

    if (fwrite($handle, $content) === FALSE) {
        echo "Cannot write to file ($filename)";
        exit;
    }

    fclose($handle);
    return true;
}
