php.ini per virtual host

How do I set it so that there is a php.ini file for each virtual host? Sort of like the settings from the local one override the main one, but everything else from the main one is used.

I know that you can use .htaccess but I'd prefer to do it with a php.ini.

I don't know of a php.ini for each virtual host but you could try this: [a href=\"http://www.phpfreaks.com/phpmanual/page/configuration.changes.html#configuration.changes.apache\" target=\"_blank\"]http://www.phpfreaks.com/phpmanual/page/co....changes.apache[/a]

This is what I use for different PHP settings per user
