I'm quite new to PHP. I will like to know which version of PHP can I install on my machine and what are the steps for this installation.

Can I write PHP in VS2005?

I have it presently working on various computers, one of which runs WinXP Pro so it should be no problem for you.

As to writing php scripts - any text editor will work.
