is there a limit on how many entries I can put inside a table?
And is it best to spread data out over several tables just to make searching and editing easier?
I may have around 1000 rows !!

Spreading data over several tables makes searching harder, not easier. You then have to do a search on each table.

Only 1000 rows? I\'ve one table i use regularly with 3,000,000 rows.
If you are still using mysql_ functions, STOP! Use mysqli_ or PDO. The longer you leave it the more you will have to rewrite.
