[SOLVED] Making stuff happen automatically at a given time

Is there a way to make a php script that the server will run automatically at a given time, like, every Friday at 1:00 am?

 

For example, I'm making a website, for entertainment purposes, and I'm think of adding a feature that simulates bank accounts for my users.  One thing I would like is for everyone to get an automatic deposit to their accounts once a week.  Can I do this with PHP?  If so, how?  If not, how CAN I do it?

Thank you!  I think that's just what I needed to point me in the right direction.  I'm kind of new to this whole thing, so I'd never heard of "cron" before.
