Mysql & PHP

I\'ve installed redhat linux onto an old machine I had.

I installed apache server from the redhat 9 installation cd, which is working fine, its installed php which also seems to be working fine.

I have then installed mysql, setup the basic databases to hold the user details, and mysql is running.

Yet when I try to access myphpadmin from my server, it says something about php needing to be setup for mysql. So even though mysql is running, sites that need it are not able to see it.

I use a contact management software called mambo(www.mamboserver.com), upon installation this tells you what you have running on your server, when I run this, it says that mysql is \'unavailable\'

Can anyone assist, do I need to change some settings in the php.ini file to point it to the mysql socks or something?

[mSQL]

make sure this is in your PHP.ini file and make sure it is uncommented
