Div positioning

You can use position:absolute and then position with top,right,bottom,left attributes:

 

#div{

position:absolute;

bottom:0px;

}

 

That will keep the div positioned at the bottom of the screen no matter parent or otherwise.

Ignore my above post. The post above mine cofused me. Position absolute does not keep the positioning of the div 'fixed' in respect to the screen.

 

And position:fixed is fully supported by ie so not sure what experience brimlow has had.

Well, you are both right and wrong. It doesn't work in IE6, but does work in IE7 and IE8.

 

But brimlow was right in that it can be faked in IE6. Takes a bit of a hack, but so does most everything else in IE6.
