htaccess problem on Joomla

etrader

Recommended Posts

I installed Joomla on my new server with OS of Fedora 10.

Unlike my other experiences, the htaccess does not work, and any link results in a 'Not Found' error.

Could you please let me know if I need to configure something on my server to work with mod-rewrite of htaccess of Joomla

Thanks

In order for .htaccess to work you need to be using Apache as the HTTP server.

You will also need to set the Options directive for your Document to atleast file within the httpd.conf

Made sure you have enabled mod_rewrite within the httpd.conf too. To do so find the following line and remove the # at the start

#LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so

Make sure that you backup your htaccess. make it htaccess.bkp

Now paste this code

many thanks for your kind assistance, but the .htaccess file you provided also did not resolve the problem. Could you please let me know how your httpd.conf looks like?
