Jocka Posted August 4, 2006 Share Posted August 4, 2006 I've installed MYSQL on my computer before and it worked perfectly. I recently tried to install it again and I THOUGHT it worked just fine until I tried to run it. It comes up as if it's going to work but then my computer slows almost to a stop. I can't get php OR winmysqladmin to read the database. Anybody have any ideas of what might have happened or might have gone wrong?I use this:Windows 98 (home computer, just for testing)Apache 2.0.43Php 4.3.10 Mysql 4.0.4 (all 3 came from a CD i got at the library.. didnt' want to download).If maybe ya'll think the versions are just too old (but i still don't see how that would keep it from working) then I'll update and see if it works.. I can start up mysql and it'll be running but then the computer slows down about 5 seconds after loading mysql and it acts like the files corrupted or something. It just doesn't do anything. I looked at it a little more after posting this and that was a beta version of mysql so i'm gonna try to get a better version and see if that works. But i gotta leave for work now so that won't be til' tomorrow or sunday.
