When I try PHP code (like the one below index.php), $_POST works and I get the desired results.
But when I put HTML code in .html file and PHP in .php file, the output does not get printed when I open the HTML file and then click Submit.
I tried various manipulations in php.ini and apache.
I'm using Windows XP, PHP 5 and Apache server.

<title>Untitled Document</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
if(isset($_POST['submit'])) {// Check to see if submit was clicked
$name = $_POST['name'];
print $name;
print "Successful.";
}  // End Submit Check

<form action="index.php" method="post">
Name: <input type="text" name="name">
<input type="submit" name="submit">

Any clues??

You cannot put PHP code in a html file. As your server will need to be configured to parse html files with the PHP Intepreter. This is not recommended though.
