What is this PHP & MySQL mean?

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 's', 'the sacred palace', 'http://www.palace.net')' at line 1

this is the first time i encountered this error message, what do you think this mean?

It means exactly what it says: you have an error in the SQL you passed to MySQL, and need to look in the MySQL manual how to fix it!  ::)

I'm no expert so here is what I do:

I use myphpadmin to do the sql then I cut n paste it into my php,

If the OP would like to post the sql query that's giving him the error, we can take a look at it, the mysql manual is pretty useless unless you already know what you're looking for...
