incude question

ok so right now i got basic code so when i go to content.php itll show index and when i go to say content.php?cID=download, itll show download. But how can i make it go to pages with .php extensions without showing it in the URL?

 

right now to have extensions on my file it must be in the URL, EX: content.php?cID=download.php.

if(empty($cID)){ 
include 'index'; 
}else{ 
if(file_exists($cID)){ 
include $cID; 
}else{ 
echo 'Page Not Found'; 
}
}
?>

 

i was thinking something like

include ("$cID.php")

but where would i integrate it into the code?
