Im writing a registration form that will need user's confirmation by clicking on an email link.
My question is, what attribute should i put in the link? Im thinking of generating a validation key so it matches the
one in the database when user clicks on the link. Is that the right way to do?

That would work, in fact, it's probably the best way to go.

Advice to MySQL users: Get phpMyAdmin and test your queries work there first, take half the hassle out of diagnosis, also check the reserved words list.
