Unable to display the errors on to the screen !!!

Hello folks .. i m new to php .

i ve written some script which requires mysql connection .. when i m including the mysql_connect() i m left with the script going blank or stopping its execution at that line ... i m also not getting if there is any error occured ... please help me how to solve this ..

i m unable to get the errors on to the screen.. i ve even set the error_reporting to E_ALL both in php.ini and my script .. is there ny way to solve this ,.,..
