jEdit install problem on Windows 7 -- stuck on "init macros"

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I use jEdit to do my coding and ran into some problems reinstalling it on my work computer now that it has Windows 7. Since jEdit's community is not very active, I figured I would throw my question out here and see if anyone could help.

So as I said, my work laptop was recently upgraded to 64 bit Windows 7 and after I installed the Java environment and installed jEdit (tried with the Windows and Java installers) it always gets stuck opening during the "init macros" portion.

Another odd thing is I can switch users and log in as the computer admin and install it and it will open while I'm logged in there... but when I switch users back and try to open jEdit, it still fails.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
