Ok so I got a hold of some script that I need to make some changes to but seeing it I'm slightly confused. The script below is pulling info from another location and loading it into this page. I'm just trying to figure out what is going on with it. Can anyone explain it?

$client = ($_GET["client"] != "") ? $_GET["client"] : "default";
include ($_SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"]. "/includes/work/". $client . ".html")

This is called a ternary statement.  It's nothing more than if/else shorthand; whereas there is only one statement per clause.

if($_GET['client'] != "") $client = $_GET['client'];
else $client = "default";

include("somewebjpage?x=" . $client);

is the same as

$client = ($_GET["client"] != "") ? $_GET["client"] : "default";
include ("somewebjpage?x=" . $client);
