Unwanted slash with textbox

Hello,

Fairly new to php (3 days now!). I'm trying to write a little script that'll write to a file from a textbox. Links will be necessary in the textbox but when the file is made the output becomes this:
<a href=\"lalala.txt>lalala</a>
I need to get rid of that backslash but slipslashes() doesn't seem to work. Here's the code I have to write a new file:
<?php
chdir("info"); //change dir to info
$ourFileName = "$filename"; //get text input
$ourFileHandle = fopen($ourFileName, 'w') or die("can't open file");  //make file
fclose($ourFileHandle);

$fh = fopen($ourFileName, 'w') or die("can't open file");
$stringData = $sup; //get textbox input
fwrite($fh, $stringData); //write to file
fclose($fh);
?>
Any help would be great :D
