I note when I stream videos from youtube or other flash flv sites my internet speed is slowed down. Normally I use a speed meter app http://www.speedtest.net and it logs 2 +/- Mbps of download bandwith but when I use any flash streaming flv it downgrades to 0.1 Mbps.
