I've made more progress and decided against changing the top and bottom colors, I just didn't like it. http://www.coralglad...eshigh.com/v2/

Too bad. I still like it though. Nice touch with the image viewer!  :)

It has an overlapping issue at 800x600 though:

Might seem like nagging, but w3c schools claim still almost 1 out of 5 surfers use it.

Besides, your designs are always pretty good looking, so I am forced to nag about details..  :P

I know about the 800x600, just think I decided not the care this time.  I may reconsider but it will require me to shink the menu down and not sure I want to. I'm also having slight problem with the slideshow, which is strange because it works perfect on my local box, but acts strange with a couple photos when I uploaded it.  Can't figure out why.

Looks good. You have an eye for detail.
The sub Nav menu - very nice - and has a very nice a:hover.

I didnt think you would be one for a FLASH photo album! Maybe times are changing! But as you mentioned - not all the photos were willing to come up.

The calender needs some dressing up IMO. It just looks a little unstyled compared to the rest of the site.

I think your left Nav area is too wide. The width of the left column is more than the right - well by a few mill. Like if there is going to be a title longer than Clubs and Organisations - it should cleanly wrap around. This will save the overlap at 800x600.
And from my experience of computers in schools - they are all at 800X600 to have big text and icons for the kids.

Rgds,
Steve

I slimmed the nav a little and styled the calendar container some. Still not making the 800x600 cut. As far as the school comps, all are a minimum of 1024x768, we have a lot of widescreen imacs too.

The calender looks better - albeit the event icon having a little too much colour.

I know you are not designing for 800 x 600 - but - I still think there is 5px too much padding on the very extreme left.

Its a pity safari doesnt render <input> fields. Still - all looks good.

I noticed that too on Safari, wonder why they don't respect my css :(  I see what you mean about the left padding, I'll fix that on Monday.  I'm home and all the source is at work.  Thanks for the feedback.

I think the headers for Staff Login and Event Viewer could be just a little bit larger
or just a little more emphasized

but overall I really like the evolution so far.

Great job!

I think the sidenav turned out very elegant, I wouldn't touch it anymore. I can feel some jealousy brewing up.. :P

NICE.

A few points tho jeff - probably more work tho.
The photo slideshow - when you reach the end - the forward arrow still shows. Obviously after going forward and backwards a time or two - I realise I have reached the end. Anyways - its just a usability thing.

In your header image - Coral Glades High School - you have the Principals name in the image. Is this so, they will call you for after sales support if they change principal ,-)

I still would like to see an intext a:hover for <a href's> - but thats just me.
The event calender login looks well - but I wouldnt be too keen to have it as a popup window.

Anyways - very nice overall. Boy - Im sure there was a lot of work in putting all that site together!

I would suggest you pay attention to the lighting when taking pictures.. (if you are the one who took those)

your students are majaorily black and their heads lie in the dark gloomy shadowed part of the picture.

we can barely distinguish some faces

Very nice work! I love to see a finished product when someone has actually implemented suggestive criticism ;)

I'm the IT specialist at the school, so they got it basically for free.  If I were to charge, it would be probably a couple grand for the amount of content put into that thing.  There is also a lot happening behind the scenes in the login section for staff
