andy_b_1502 Posted April 5, 2012 Author Share Posted April 5, 2012 Okay, i've just tried it again and got this: "The file 360transportheader2012.jpg has been uploaded, and your information has been added to the directory You must enter a valid address Your invalid name was: If you require a fast and reliable transport service here\'s bit about 360 Transport Solutions Ltd... 360 Transport Solutions LTD are a small independent, Midland\'s-based company just off the M6 toll road, Transporting goods from emergency parcels to high value products nationwide. " Why is it looking up an invalid address in the company description bit? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Drummin Posted April 5, 2012 Share Posted April 5, 2012 No. I'm pretty sure that is coming from your TWO address fields. Personally I would only make the first one required by commenting on that second validation section. Also, you might change those error messages so that it reflects the field that was in error. so instead of using this for all fields Your invalid name was: You say things like Email field error: Username error: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
andy_b_1502 Posted April 5, 2012 Author Share Posted April 5, 2012 Your right! i changed each one to what you suggested and got these: You must enter a valid address Your invalid company description was: "descripton blah blah...." How can i change the code to accept the address and accept the description? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Drummin Posted April 5, 2012 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Hmm not sure what you did. You were just changing some of the error messages right? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
andy_b_1502 Posted April 5, 2012 Author Share Posted April 5, 2012 Yeah, in particular the company description. so it elliminated the rest etc... I still want it NOT there. as this is an actual sample of a real post that is to be used.... i dont need it to be invalid. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Drummin Posted April 5, 2012 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Not sure what issue you're having now. btw, here's a commented out address2 validation section so it's not a required field. /* =============================================== */ /* if((!isset($_POST['street2'])) || (strlen(trim($_POST['street2'])) <5) || (trim($_POST['street2']) != preg_replace("/[^a-zA-Z0-9\s\-\'\,\.\_]/", "", trim($_POST['street2'])))) { */ /* if username is bad start building the error message */ /* $error_message = "You must enter a valid address<br>"; $error_message = $error_message . 'Your invalid name was: <font color="red">' . $_POST['street2'] . "</font><hr>"; } */ /* END validating street2 */ /* =============================================== */ Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
andy_b_1502 Posted April 5, 2012 Author Share Posted April 5, 2012 So my issue now is getting that 'company description' to be "valid" and not give me any error messages... Ill make a new topic if needs be? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Drummin Posted April 6, 2012 Share Posted April 6, 2012 I am getting an error on line 17 that's probably due to my server settings. Maybe a topic for a new post as I don't know the answer. Strict Standards: Only variables should be passed by reference in ...\register00.php on line 17 I did find this on the web regarding this issue. $a = explode('.', $save); $ext = strtolower(end($a)); unset($a); That seemed to fix the problem.
