hello guys, need help please..  i continued working on an existing information system but I came across that the datatype for myDATE is in VARCHAR, I'm having problems now on how will i filter dates, i want to change the datatype of field myDate from VARCHAR to DATE. I altered the datatype on my table but the results are bad. so please please help guys..  thanks you thank you thank you..

Never alter a field type like that, especially without backing up the data. Create a new field of the proper type, then run an UPDATE query to populate the new field with the properly formatted data from the old field. Once you've verified that the update was 100% successful, you can rename the fields and delete the old one if you want to.
