Php And Iframes

Hello I have a website that is in an iframe. i want that website (from inside the iframe) to be able to alter/ access variables/cookies in the website that contains that iframe.

is that even possible?

if so please tell me how.

i did something simular with my current project.

 

so what i did in the main part of the page was something like this to allow me to view single news feeds in my iframe.

 

reason for me doing this was because i have a RSS feed, so when the user clicks on a news topic in my RSS it would direct them to that topic only.

I don't really mean accesing the src property with php, but also read data from the iframe and acces from inside the iframe to the owner of the iframe
