Boolean Mode

Hi all,

Im creating a search query which will allow our customers to search our database to select a product they are looking for. The MySQL query is below...

SELECT * FROM products WHERE MATCH(products_description) AGAINST ('$query' IN BOOLEAN MODE)

The problem is, it doesnt work if there are less than 4 characters which would cause a problem if somebody searched for "cue" which will happen a lot as it is a 8 ball pool shop. Is there a workaround for this?

Many thanks
