Quick question. This is a twitter button code. How do I keep the "following" selected on success?

I have managed to modify it to my liking. And yes I know the ".live" is depreciated and instead use "on". 

 

Anyways, the only thing I noticed is that if I click "Follow" button and it turns green; once I refresh the page, it goes back to default "follow" mode.  I was wondering how can I keep it green even if I refresh the page?
