After learning PHP, got a problem

I'm not satisfied with some exercises on 'localhost', I need my own independent domain name and host service to start to construct my own small business website.

So, my 1st question is how and where to apply an independent domain name independently because I don't want to be 'kidnapped' by any host provider?

2nd, which one is the 'best' host provider(I have no special requirements, only: normal bandwidth, normal traffic, normal premium, php & mysql built-in support; If its site-builder provides the forum support, that's better)?

Any advice is welcome, thanks in advance!

It should make no difference at all developing on localhost. Even with a domain and hosting account, you would still not be developing on a remote server, although you could.

A couple of the name places to buy a domain is godaddy.com and register.com. As far as hosts, there are thousands to choose from. You also need to decide if you want shared hosting, VPS, dedicated server, managed, self managed. Best to do some research. But really, there is no reason to do all that if you are not ready to go live with a site.
