mysqli_query() does not return all the rows from the query. You need mysqli_num_rows.

Look at my post, click the link to the documentation for mysqli_num_rows, see how it's supposed to be used, and fix your code accordingly.

OMG!  Does anybody EVER read a manual/reference/book/tutorial before embarking on writing code anymore???

OP - If you had taken 5 minutes to look at the manual and do a search on the function in question here you would not only have learned something but have seen a perfectly good usage of said function and NOT be posting here for more help on this particular error.  We try to help out those who help themselves so please try to hold up your end of the bargain.
